Michael Gunzburg – Founding Attorney

With over 37 years of experience as a New York City personal injury and medical malpractice attorney, Michael Gunzburg has built a reputation as an accomplished and experienced trial lawyer. He has successfully represented thousands of clients in all types of accidents and medical treatment situations throughout the New York City area, including New York, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Richmond, and Suffolk Counties.

Michael Gunzburg graduated from Boston University with a B.S.B.A. in 1982, concentrating in business management and accounting. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1987 and is also a Certified Public Accountant in New York State since 1987.

He is admitted to practice law in New York State (Appellate Division, Second Department), the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association of Justice, and the Brooklyn Bar Association. Mr. Gunzburg has also served on the legal referral panel for the Brooklyn Bar Association since 1989.

Joseph A. Ruta, Esq. – Of Counsel

Joseph A. Ruta serves as Of Counsel to Michael Gunzburg, P.C. Mr. Ruta is a Partner at Ruta Soulios & Stratis LLP, where his practice focuses on litigation involving tort and business law, as well as corporate and commercial matters. He is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey.

After graduating as Valedictorian of Marist College in 1989, Mr. Ruta attended Brooklyn Law School as a Richardson Scholar, earning his J.D. in 1992. While in law school, he had the privilege of clerking for the Honorable Harold Baer, Jr.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ruta has tried and won cases in both state courts and major arbitration forums in the New York metropolitan area. He has successfully represented individuals and corporations in scores of cases involving all manner of torts, contracts, and other commercial matters.

Mr. Ruta has served as President of the New York City Chapter of the Christian Legal Society since 2001 and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Christian Legal Society in October 2008.
